Legos were a huge part of my brother's and my own childhood. We had buckets and buckets and buckets full of any and every piece you'd ever need to build any car, ship, jet, submarine of your dreams. It was the most fun! I was bummed when the company started to head in the direction of Bionicle and other sub brands that required extremely specific pieces that constricted my creativity. Fortunately this started to happen just as I was growing out of the majesty of those plastic building blocks. Anyways, they've recently launched Lego | Architecture and I'm super stoked—an excuse to play with Legos as an adult! Emily bought me the Seattle Space Needle for Christmas and lit the fuse to find more. I think the next project will be Frank Lloyd Wrights Robie House.

Also, this campaign launched a couple years ago. Best ever. Really captures the endless possibilites and simplicity of the legendary building blocks. Not sure if Stanley Hainsworth was involved in these or not, but to whomever was the CD on these, kudos!

Whenever the time comes to create a kid or two of my own, Legos will definitely be on their bedroom floors.
