This is the first week of the year that has been sunny every day—it's time to get the garden in. I was going to plant in the beginning of April but we had snow a couple weeks ago followed by another cold snap so I'm glad I didn't. Anyways, the soil has been tilled and it's nearly ready to be planted, just need to get the rest of the Morning Glory out of the bed.

Last year we did corn, mustard greens, green beans, strawberries, jalapeños, and a later crop of kale and arugula. It was sort of our trial run, and after learning a few things, we're changing the plant dockett a bit and hoping everything will go smoothly.

Wish my garden looked like this.
The list:
Green Beans
Heirloom Tomatoes
Cherry Tomatoes
Kale
Lettuce
Arugula
Cucumber

That should be enough to learn from. Last year the corn just didn't get quite enough sun and the yield was poor and tasteless. It looks cool, but just doesn't produce well up here. The mustard greens went absolutely apeshit and it was tough to keep up with, we got tired of them pretty quickly. With the forecast looking pristine, this weekend will be a great one to get these in the ground. PLAN: Garden, BBQ, sunshine, beer, BB guns, and a bonfire. Is there anything better?
